admin - Fire Causes $70K in Damage to Murrieta Home (6/28/2012)

A recent fire caused $70,000 in damage to a Murrieta home.

Flames broke out around 2 a.m. Monday at a home in the 24500 of Adanti Court, according to Murrieta Fire Department Spokesperson Matt Corelli.

Sixteen Murrieta firefighters responded at 2:08 a.m. to find the garage and roof of the home near California Oaks Sports Park completely involved in fire, Corelli said, in a news release.

“All the occupants were out of the house upon arrival of the first crew,” Corelli said.

Firefighters stopped the fire from extending inside the home, keeping the property of the residents from being damaged, Corelli said.

The spread of fire was also stopped from reaching a next door neighbor’s home, he said.

The fire was deemed contained 30 minutes after arrival of the first crew, Corelli said.

An investigation into what caused the fire and what area of the home it started in was ongoing, he said.
