Building a Chicken CoopWhy would I want to do that?5 Reasons-Why Raise Chickens, And Build a Chicken Coop?Raising chickens should be fun, and not Chore, or fuss. There are many reasons why people want to put up with chickens in their backyard, or even front for that matter. Some of these reasons are listed below.Reason # 1 – Chickens love leftovers.A chicken’s appetite is like a goat! they can eat almost everything, even their own kind! by the way, Goats won’t do that. you can now clean out the leftovers that have been left way too long in your fridge. (You know the ones I’m talking about). the ones that are so dried up, and moldy, you can’t even identify them! you feel less guilty of throwing the ones out into the garbage can that could have actually still been eaten. Plus, you’ll save on chicken feed. but be very careful with what kinds of leftovers you give them because it may be their last supper. keep the spicy foods at a minimum, and tone down on the onions and garlic.Reason #2 – Eggs!Who doesn’t love eggs? We eat’um boiled, scrambled, sunny side up, or sunny side down, and don’t turn’um over! (Three Stooges) Admit it, pets that live comfortably inside your houses don’t give anything more than barks, and pieces of the couch, meows, and stinky kitty litter, purrs, and hair balls, and sometimes, chirp (more stink!). Fish in general, can be eaten, but who would want to eat Marvin? None of these so called pets produce something edible, except maybe for the chickens. while chickens, on the other hand, have lots of benefits. One of the many benefits chickens give is their eggs. Dahahahah, I LOVE EGGS!!!you can eat fresh eggs right from the source. Eggs taken from the hen house minutes or hours before you eat them, taste better, and are better for you than those you bought last week at the local market. You’ll notice a big difference in the texture and color than that of the fresh ones, which has no bearing on the quality, or taste of the eggs.Reason #3 – Source of natural fertilizers. The fact that your lawn or backyard will never look any better! Chickens love to freely walk around. That’s why I recommend a movable chicken coop. Chickens will peck on anything they see that can be considered as food. And what is food to them? Possibly anything that’s organic. (Back to the Goat thing again) If you let your chickens roam around your space, you’ll find out just how reliable they can be. they eat bugs living in your backyard – grubs, beetles, insects, earwigs, and anything that comes close. After the digestion has set its due, they will transform what they’ve eaten into poop. but this is not just any kind of poop but a treasure called fertilizer, the natural kind. And you know what natural fertilizers do right? they keep the surrounding soil healthy for plants to grow. cool. Huh?Now you didn’t think you’d have a non-pooping animal around did you?Reason #4 – Low Maintenance PetsUnlike dogs that need to be combed and brushed everyday to keep their fur alive and shiny, (I hate doing this, it takes way too much time!) Chickens on the other hand, don’t have such needs. All you have to do is provide them food and water. you also have to clean their pad at least twice a month and change the straw too. (This is where a movable coop comes in handy!) you just move the coop, and spread the poop!:)In return, you just gather up all the eggs. aside from just gathering, you can also start a little fresh egg business of your own. not mention the chicken meat you’ll have!Reason #5 – Grass and weed clippers. You got that right. now you can save lots of time on mowing your own lawn by getting yourself chickens! Chickens eat, grass, weeds, and leaves because they’re tasty goodies, it’s like a dessert for lifetime! they will dig through whatever is out there without even complaining about the hard work. Chickens will clip your grass, then clean it all at the same time.with all these reasons, why bother getting yourself an in-house pet? no offense but they can’t even water the plants. (Well, the dog will, if you don’t let him go outside and chase the chicken!) In cases of chickens, you can have a best friend, a lawn mower, an organic fertilizer supplier, and an egg producer all in one ball of feathers!to get Instructions For Building a Chicken Coop Click Here
