Keep it Simple
The best advice that I can give to you is to just keep it simple. they do not have to be fancy or complicated. it is not a good idea to spend a lot of time trying to make them perfect because you probably won’t see it that much anyway. now if you’re coop is fancy itself, then you might want to spend a little more time on the boxes. if not, just keep it simple.

Also you should think about a way to get the eggs without have to enter the coop. A lot of chicken coops that I have seen have some type of way to get the eggs from the outside. This helps by not disturbing the chickens too much and you won’t have to worry about getting stuff on your shoes.
If you don’t know how or want to build the them yourself, you can always buy them. some improvement stores carry them or they carry something similar that can be used as a nesting box. if you can’t find them locally, you can look online at places such as Amazon.com and eBay.com. if you still can’t find any, then another thing you could do is contact someone who is good with wood like a carpenter, and see if they can build you one for a god price.
